Thank you for purchasing the Olympus Rim Scanner ES-10. The ES-10 is a (Mm scanner for both 35mm and optional Advanced Photo System film formats. To ensure correct use. read this manual thoroughly before using your ES-10.

Olympus Film Scanner ES-10 Features
This product has the following features.
♦ By exchanging adapters, images from both 35mm (135 format) and Advanced Photo System (IX240 lormat] film can be scanned into a personal computer as image data.
♦ Maximum scanning resolution of 1770 dpi.
♦ 24-Bit color scanning with Super Latitude scanning system that provides contrast or dynamic range equivalent to 10-bìt A/D.
♦ Ideal operation that presents the display of ¡mages on the screen simultaneously with the start of scanning.
♦ The parallel interlace of the ES-10 allows use on any Windows 95 or 3.1 computer. Simply attach the scanner to lhe printer port of the personal computer.
♦ Compatible with both TWAIN and TWAIN32. Using Advanced Photo System Film
♦ Items in Ihis manual with lhe ¿S symbol concern Advanced Photo System film or the optional Advanced Photo System adapter A-10 and need to be read only when the Advanced Photo System adapter A-10 is purchased.
♦ Please note that the Advanced Photo System butions, etc., mentioned in explanations in this manual regarding operation will not function unless the optional Advanced Photo System adapter is installed.

Preparations
Before using this unit for the first time, remove the transport screw on the bottom of the main unit with the provided Allen wrench. This screw is used only to hold the sensor in place during transportation and is no longer required once the unit is installed.
