The Shure PA705 is a UHF wireless directional antenna designed for use with the Shure PSM Wireless System. It features a log periodic dipole array and operates in the 620 to 870 MHz range. When com- pared to an omnidirectional 1/2-wave antenna, the cardioid pattern provided by the PA705 offers enhanced coverage of the desired area, improved range and reduced multipath interference conditions. The PA705 can be mounted on a microphone stand or mounted to a wall using the integral swivel adapter bracket.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 1. Determine the length of cable required to connect the PA705 Antenna to the P6T Wireless Transmitter or the PA760 Antenna Combiner. Use only as long a cable as necessary, because there is more power loss with longer cables. IMPORTANT: Always use low-loss 50 ohm cable, such as RG- 8X or equivalent. Shure UA825 7.6 m (25 ft.) or UA850 15.2 m (50 ft.) cables are recommended. 2. Connect one end of the antenna cable to the PA705. Then mount the antenna so that it points toward the intended coverage area. 3. Connect the other end of the antenna cable to the ANTENNA OUT of a P6T Wireless Transmitter or a PA760 Antenna Combiner. NOTE: Always perform a “walk around” test to verify coverage before using a wireless system during a speech or performance. Experiment with antenna placement to find the optimum location for the PA705.
